Christopher Reeve Isn’t Superman In Upcoming CW Crossover!
By Baymax Acevado

There are like so, so, so many people who are excited for The CW’s crossover event Crisis on Infinite Earths since it’s going to bring back a lot of other non-CW heroes like Brandon Routh’s Superman and Kevin Conroy’s Bruce Wayne.

I mean, there’s Supergirl. Superman appears in Supergirl. Maybe I should just delete that? Nah – sally forth. That delete button is so far away.

Pressing on, Routh’s Superman is said to be the Kingdom Come version of the character. Looking up Kingdom Come on Wikipedia, I see it was about old superheroes and came out in 1996. Which was like 40 years ago. I imagine it was about new costumes and superheroes dying. The 90’s started those trends.

Kingdom Come’s artist was Alex Ross and I guess he’s still alive because he shared this image of what Christopher Reeve’s Superman would have looked like on Twitter. Old people use Twitter?

Christopher Reeve died in 2004 and would have been 67 years old if he played Superman today. According to some sources he was the best Superman because he “smiled, saved cats from trees, and selfishly spun the Earth the wrong way around, sending the Earth backwards in time which could have possibly killed off the entirety of Earth’s population just to save one woman’s life.” Oh cool, he smiles! Suck on that, Henry Cavill!

Routh didn’t smile much when he played the character in Superman Returns. He was super stalkery. No one seems to talk about that. Least he didn’t have batnipples.

Anywho, the return of Routh’s Superman also comes with Kevin Conroy, the voice of animated Batman, finally playing a live-action Bruce Wayne. The monumental crossover event is also said to have a return of Burt Ward, who played Robin in the Adam West television version of Batman. That Batman danced! The Batusi!

Though nothing has been confirmed, a lot of people are also hoping for guest appearances from Lynda Carter (Wonder Woman), Tom Welling (Smallville), Matthew Settle (Justice League of America), Keanu Reeves (Constantine), Tom Hanks (Road to Perdition), Josh Brolin (Jonah Hex), John Haymes Newton (Superboy), Shaquille O’Neal (Steel), Natalie Portman (V for Vendetta), Chris Evans (The Losers), Helen Mirren (Red), Tiffany Haddish (The Kitchen) Rod Haase (Legends of the Superheroes), Michael Gray (Shazam), Rick Springfield (The Human Target), Heather Locklear (Return of Swamp Thing), and Michael Rosenbaum (Smallville).

Is it too much to ask for Lori Petty to play Tank Girl alongside Conroy’s Bruce Wayne? I know that’s not a DC character but that movie was awesome.
