I really need to read the entire Thanos series up to this point because I really, really, really loved last issue and this issue. The sad thing is Thanos #17 appears to be the next to last issue of the series. At least for now. It’s a damn shame because in just two issues I am fully engrossed in Thanos’ story.

The issue picks up right where the last issue left off. The Silver Surfer has arrived to take Thanos down for good. In his hand he holds Mjolnir – Thor’s hammer. Silver Surfer is here to finally put a stop to Thanos and all of the death and destruction.

So what do we get?  A big badass fight. Silver Surfer and Mjolnir versus King Thanos, King Thanos’ herald Cosmic Punisher Ghost Rider, and time traveler Thanos. You have to root for the Silver Surfer, right? He’s the good guy and even though we are reading a book about a “bad guy”, the good guy always wins. Right? RIGHT!??!?!?!

That’s the best part about this book and Donny Cates’ kickass script. You just have no clue. Cates puts you smack dab in the middle of this fight and artist Geoff Shaw immerses the reader with his stunning artwork. You feel nearly every blow thrown at both Thanos by the Surfer. There’s surprises on every single page as well. The book simply got better and better all the way to the final page which truly is a doosy.

I can’t believe next issue is the final issue. It really sucks. This book is amazeballs and the only thing I really have to do is read all seventeen issues of Thanos before #18 comes out. My advice to you Jordan White: after Infinity War has been out for two months, start trying to get Thanos resurrected. This book deserves an issue #19, and an #20, and so on, and so forth. Damn fine reading.
